Elias
Child House is located in a rural area on 47 acres of pasture and
woodland. Perrin Road is extremely lightly traveled, so city dwellers
may have trouble sleeping due to the silence, which may be punctuated
by the singing of the night "critters" or the hooting
of an owl. We are located 15 minutes away from the
Audubon Society in Pomfret, lots of birds on our property including
wild turkeys. We are centrally located among many tourist attractions.
Several fine restaurants are within easy driving distance and the Taylor Brooke Winery is just 2 miles down the road. |

Tidewater Inn Bed & Breakfast overlooks
the Boston Post Road in a wooded residential area. The large
shaded back yard slopes down to meet Fence Creek. The
English garden (pictured below) on the side of the house is
a favorite spot for relaxing in nice weather. The tidal
wetlands of Long Island Sound are visible across the road. We
are just a short walk, down the block, from Connecticut’s premier
birding store, “The Audubon Shop” in Madison CT. Birders may sign up
for weekend birding events with Jerry Connolly at the shop. We also
can arrange for special guided birding events just for our guests with
enough advance notice. Birding groups are most welcome. |
