Florida Lodging for Bird Watching Vacations
(Motels and Hotels)

The
Island Hotel Bed & Breakfast in Cedar Key, Florida is
on the National Register of Historic Buildings, and is one
of Florida's most famous Bed and Breakfasts. Sit on a rocker
on the long balcony and watch the birds and the sun set over
the Gulf, relax in our informal and cozy lounge bar, painted
in 1948 with murals of Cedar Key and King Neptune, for whom
the bar is named. Having very high standards, the seafood,
vegetables and other ingredients used in food preparation,
had to be fresh. The seafood was often just off the boat
and the vegetables fresh from the garden. |

The Old
Carrabelle Hotel opened for business with innkeepers
Kathy and Skip Frink on the 4th of July, 2002,
very likely in the first years of the building’s 3rd
century! Mostly water, Carrabelle enjoys river, harbor, salt
marsh, Intracoastal bay and the Gulf of Mexico. Exploration
of nature and many other outdoor activities abound. From
bird watching, sportfishing, sailing and island-hopping to
soaking up abundant sunshine on our sugar-sand beaches,
there is something memorable for all on this lovely
Forgotten Coast. |
