New Hampshire Lodging for Bird Watching Vacations
 |
The Clarke House Bed & Breakfast
provides lodging in a restored circa 1775 country home. We have five
guest rooms including two suites with fireplaces. All have private
baths, some with whirlpools and all have TV/DVD's and WIFI access. A generous country breakfast is
served beside the fireplace. Tranquility and comfort are plentiful
as our guests enjoy the charm and beauty of New Hampshire. The Clarke
House is just perfect for exploring everything New Hampshire has to
offer. Just a few miles north of the Lakes Region, a few miles south of
the White Mountains area and just minutes from bird watching, hiking,
skiing, fishing, canoeing and just about any other outdoor activity
that New Hampshire is famous for. The Clarke House is located close to
several great restaurants as well but the real gastronomic treat is the
breakfast that Cindy lovingly prepares for her guests. Everywhere you
look there is an attention to detail that is well beyond the norm. This
Inn looks like it jumped off the pages of a decorator magazine!

This post and beam historic home dating from the early 1800's first opened as Ashburn House Bed & Breakfast
in 1996. In the spring 2003, Carole and Ken Beckwith purchased the
home, furnishing it with Shaker furniture, antiques and artifacts from
their travels. Guests share a candlelight breakfast in a formal dining
room on the first floor. This room has a colonial style fireplace with
a crane and beehive oven. A sumptuous full Irish breakfast or Yankee
style hearty breakfast, along with fresh baked goods and seasonal fruit
are served at a handsome, hand-crafted, tiger-maple table. Enjoy
seasonal sports such as fishing in the nearby children's pond or
sledding on the town-maintained cross country ski trails. In July,
visitors marvel at the resplendent rhododendron in the Rhododendron
State Park. One of the entrances to Mount Monadnock, the most
frequently climbed mountain in the world by some accounts, is only
three miles away and perfect for bird watching. Closer climbs are Gap
Mountain and Little Monadnock. Both climbs are easy for children and
adults!
