Originally built
by famous ship chandlers, Levy
& Neafie from Philadelphia. Each were ship captains
and owned separate sides of this twin house. The Pagoda styled cupola
reflects the charm of Asia with an Italian Villa and Renaissance
Revival style of architecture. The second story porches were laid with
canvas like a ship and the wrap-around porches and gingerbread
decoration give this mansion its unique and romantically ornate
characteristics. The furnishings are original and the beautiful artwork,
pictures and etchings and prints are like private galleries throughout
the properties. Our guests learn first hand about the history of this
interesting neighborhood and its wealthy past.
